We got our Presidential Dispensation!
What does that even mean, you might ask? We get to see Berline again!
Let me explain: We have been waiting since January for the President of Haiti to approve us as an adoptive family. The issue was we have biological children and Haiti doesn't allow that--they also require you to be 35 years old and married for 10 years. I guess being old helps us in this case :) So we waited 8 months for the actual signature to allow us to adopt. Their dept of social services approved us to adopt as well, so Step One-Check.
Now we go before a judge and say we want to adopt Berline and to the US Embassy for immigration paperwork. So we are waiting to hear when our Embassy appointment is scheduled. We can't wait to go see our daughter again. We are hoping to be able to take Kimberlyn this time.
