Kimber and Andy went to the Daddy Daughter Dance tonight. Kimber has been talking about it all week long. She has been choosing her dress for weeks. She got an ear infection and was worried that it would stop her from going. She made sure that we kept her medicated all day so that she could make it. It was cute but scary when she said, "The dance is in two hours. I have to get ready!" We are in trouble when she is a teenager. Kimber and Andy went to eat beforehand at Panda Garden, Kimber's favorite restaurant. She saw several of her friends at the hotel ballroom. The dance was a success!

Haiti again!?!
January 18, 2011
Today GLA posted on their blog that they will begin adoptions with couples who have only 2 biological children! I am so giddy! They have said for a few months that you had to be 35 yrs old, married 10 years, with no biological children. Andy and I have been praying about adopting from Haiti again. We had decided that if Haiti ever opened up again to people with biological children we would go ahead. Honestly, I didn't know if it would ever happen, and I for sure didn't think it would happen so soon! Andy and I have struggled with some infertility issues in the past. We tried to have another biological child, and it just didn't happen with the measures we felt comfortable using. We were sad, but that is when we decided to adopt domestically. We now have a beautiful baby boy that we never would have had otherwise. And now I can see that God closing my womb to two children, actually allows us to adopt from Haiti again. Isn't God amazing! We will have to wait and see what GLA says to our application now. You never know with Haiti what the next move is. We are expecting at least 2 years for this adoption process. It could very well take a lot longer than that, with the unstable country after the earthquake. In fact, Andy has been reading about Baby Doc coming back to Haiti. He was once a horrible dictator who was exiled from Haiti. Well, he is back, which should make for a rocky road ahead.

Caleb's 1st Birthday
We had a small family birthday party for Caleb's 1st birthday. It was fun to see him dig into the cake. He actually ate most of it! I have never seen a baby that eats that cake, and doesn't just smear it around. But our Caleb loves to eat! We had cupcakes in the shape of a polar bear for everyone else. It was neat because his birthmother was able to be there for the party. Caleb had a traditional sink bath after the cake fun.

Halloween
The kids had parties at school on Friday and loved dressing up. Jachin was Percy Jackson, a character from a kids book about greek mythology. He is just a normal kid, so we made a camp Tshirt, Camp Half-Blood. Kimberlyn rode a unicorn. Bo was an OU football player, AD specifically. We borrowed two costumes for Caleb. One was a Chewbacca costume and the other a spider. The kids trick or treated on Sunday night. Now I have to control the extreme amount of candy in the house!
